I know of an ex husband who sent a Mother’s Day card to his ex depicting before and after photos of having children. The before was a beautiful afghan dog, the after was a disheveled, ugly looking stray. Yes, he can say “I’m such a good guy, I even sent her a card!” but it’s a hollow gesture and rude. It’s better to not send one at all.
